Office 2004 upgrade

K

Keith Roxo

I just upgraded to Office 2004 from Office X. Using the install CD is found
my old info and that worked fine. I also asked it to delete old versions of
office. I came up with Office X. It moved everything to the trash and
asked me to just empty the trash. I did, but now I am getting errors in the
trash telling me that the operation cannot be completed because the item
³ShMem² is in use. Also, ³Microsoft Framework X² is in use, as is
³Microsoft Database Daemon² and ³Microsoft Component Plugin.²

Any ideas on how to delete this stuff? I did was the install disc told me
to do. I have even rebooted and tried to empty the trash.

Thanks,
Keith

Log out (Apple menu) and in. Then empty trash.

That didn¹t work. Those files are still in there and giving me the same
message.

Go to System Preferences/Accounts/Startup Items. Remove (with the "-" sign)
all and any "Microsoft Database Daemon". Then reboot your computer 9or log
out/in again). Now empty trash. If need be, hold down Option key and empty
trash.

Thanks Paul, that did it.
