Office 2004 vs. Office X

I currently an using Office 2001 and want to update so I do need to work in
the Classic environment, but I don't understand the difference between
Office 2004 and Office X. Help please.

Office v.X is about the same as 2001, only it runs natively on OS X. Office
2004 is the latest release of Office.
