Office 2004, Word Bullets and Styles

T

tipsen

I am using MS Office 2004, and noticed that the default bullets which
are based on the Symbol font don't work. They are supposed to be
little black circles, but show up as open rectangles. In fact even if
you try to insert any character from the Symbol font, they look like
the rectangles. So clearly, something is wrong with that font.

So anyway, I started messing with the Styles to get the bullet
behavior I wanted based on the Wingdings font. Well, I monkeyed around
too much and have thoroughly hosed the styles so that the bullets
don't line up right, the font changes to Times New Roman no matter
which font you are using, etc. I want to scrap all that and start over.
I've tried deleting the Normal.dot file, but that didn't seem to have
an effect.

Any ideas short of reinstalling Office? And what about the Symbol
font?

Thanks.

Hello!

What version of Mac OS are you using?

If you are running Panther, you should try upgrading to 10.3.4 and see if
that fixes the problem.

Thanks
