Office 2004 - Word - deleting files

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

I am cleaning up my files in MS Word and I am at a loss as to how to remove documents from the file menu where documents are stored. Also I want to transfer documents to specific folders w/in the file menu but I cannot seem to make this happen. I'm stuck, would appreciate your assistance. Thanks

Are you new to the Mac? This is a key Mac/Windows difference. You
cannot delete or move files in a File | Open dialog. Instead, you have
to click on the blue face in the Dock to go to the Finder. In the
Finder, you will be able to browse your entire system, drag files to the
trash, move files from one folder to another (opening two Finder windows
if necessary).
