Office 2004

I am looking into buying a Mac for the very first time! I wanted to
know if I could do a project on Office for Mac 2004 and then work on it
from a regular PC with Office 2003 for Windows? Can the two go back
and forth like that and will I experiance any user problems? This will
be a big determining factor on whether or not I buy a Mac so any info
would be helpful.

Word Excel and PowerPoint files are just fine between platform with a
few limitations:
- make sure you have the same fonts on both platforms
- avoid macros if you can as the Office Mac has limited VBA support
- avoid windows-only and MacOS-only media in the files (eg: QuickTime
movie)
(that's all I can think for now)

Office for Mac has a compatibility checker that can flag a few
imcompatibilities for you actually,

I would use PC Office on Win XP on parallels on mac os 10.4.8 om dual
core intel

get the best of both worlds
(parallels is not good for fast games tho')
