After installing MS Office 2007 the system took over all files with the MAS
extension and they have no extension to be seen now. eg Fred.mas is now Fred
I have the "Hide extensions for known file types" disabled, so I can see all
extension of all files and used to be able to see the Mas extension fine too.
Because of this it has changed the Right-Mouse-Click pop-up menu to be one
applicable to Access Mas files. But I have a lot of Mas extension files that
are not made for Access anyway. So now I cannot load or view those at all.
The Mas association I already had has not been altered in the File Types,
yet the associated program for viewing my own Mas files does not get called
to open the Mas. At the moment I have no way to get to those Mas files.
It would seem my best aim is to remove whatever Access has done to capture
those Mas files.
Does anyone know how i can remove that? (Uninstalling Access did not change
it back!). I can't find any info because searching on Mas is too short a word
to return anything of use at any site.
