Help!
About 6 months ago we downloaded the Office 2007 Admin Templates to set a
few Group Policy in order to control the behavior of Office 2007. By
default, Outlook 2007 prompts users whenever a third party application
attempts to send an email on their behalf. We have a third party application
that needs to do this a lot so having this pop up warning is very
inconvenient. We used the Outlook Template to set Programmatic Access
Security to "Never warn me about suspicious activity" and Outlook Security
Mode to "Use security form from 'Outlook Security Settings' Public Folder.
This worked and the prompting went away. We also used the Access template to
disable security checks for macros. Everything worked great until about a
month ago. We started getting calls from users that the prompting came back.
It seems that the policy's aren't being applied anymore. We tried setting
the policy up manually using Group Policy Editor on a local machine and it's
almost like the Offcie 2007 ADM files aren't being processed anymore. The
only thinkg that we can see that has changed are Security patches that were
released last month but none of them should have affected Office Templates in
this way. We haven't seen any other postings about this issue and would have
thought that if a security update caused this more people would be
complaining. Any idea would be much appreciated.
