Office 2007 and Vista licenses

I recently purchased Windows Live OneCare and was able to install it on my
"main" computer, my laptop and my wife's laptop. I have also installed the
Beta version of Office 2007 on one of the PCs and find it excellent.
I'd like to have Vista and Office 2007 on all three devices when they
become available - just like Live OneCare - but I know I can't afford 3
licenses for each. Is there any possibility that Microsoft will allow a
similar program with Vista and Office as it does with Live OneCare?

Hi Mike,

Vista is a per machine license, but there are lower priced 'upgrade' packages that may be available to you
http://microsoft.com/windowsvista/getready/editions/
but for the 2007 Office system the Home and Student edition will allow up to 3 machine installs.

Note that the Home and Student edition does not come with
MS Outlook, but the free OfficeLive site http://officelive.com
does support some of those functions, depends on your needs.

You can use the links on the left of this page
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/FX101677751033.aspx
to compare teh different Office 2007 products and to download a 60 day free trial of Office 2007 to replace the beta version you
presently have.

That's very unlikely. However, if you buy an retail license (meaning one
that didn't come with a computer), you generally get the right to use it
on two computers: The *same* user can use it on a desktop and a
portable. This might be applicable in your case. Please check the
license though by reading the EULA
(http://www.microsoft.com/about/legal/useterms/)!
Depending on what programs you want and the use of them you envision,
you might be well served with the Office 2007 Home and Student SKU. It
has Excel, PPT, Word and OneNote. For more details, see
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/suites/HA101655301033.aspx
I don't know how many installs it allows, but I think it might be three.
I can't find the specific info on that right now though.
