I have Office 2007 Beta 2 running on a machine under Windows XP Professional
and on another machine running Windows Vista Beta 2 (not RC-1 yes).
I installed the Office 2007 B2TR on both machines. On the Windows XP machine
everything appears to be OK. However on the Windows Vista Beta 2 (not RC-1
yet) I am having problems opening and saving files. The File Open/Save
dialogs do not show up. In Outlook I cannot open another datafile that was
not already open at the time the B2TR was applied. If I go to Data File
Management the only Outlook files that I see listed are the ones that are
currently open and which were open when I upgraded Office 2007 to B2TR. If I
try to add a new Outlook data file I get a message about an unknown error and
error # 0x80004002.
I restored a backup from before the installation of Office 2007 B2TR and
tried again with the same results.
I installed the B2TR on both computers from the same downloaded file.
There is no antivirus installed and running on the Vista Beta 2 computer.
Does this indicate a problem on my end or maybe the Office 2007 B2TR has
this issue under Windows Vista Beta 2? I am planning to upgrade to Windows
Vista RC-1 as soon as I get the DVD in the mail.
