Office 2007 beta 2: "Not enough memory"

Both a friend and I have started getting this error message
when we try to launch Office 2007 applications: "Not enough
memory or disk space to run <application>." I have a
computer with 1 gb memory and about 60 gb free disk space.
I've tried the following:

1. Uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2007
2. Edited the registry, deleting all the keys in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Delivery\SourceEngine\Downloads
that end with OFFICE}-C.
3. Performed all the usual disk tricks, scanning, disk
cleanup, etc.

I've run out of ideas. Any suggestions? Thanks.
