Office 2007 Beta Activation PROBLEMS!!!

I understand that this is a trial version of the Office 2007 Beta, but when I
begin to use the product, I receive an Activation screen. I attempt to
activate via the internet, but It's not allowing me to. Is this simply
because its a trial edition? I was under the influence that this this beta
was available for use until Feb of 2007. What gives here? I have only 40
uses left of the Beta!

Hi, i Also get this as well. I believe its to do with the authentication
servers are down from the amount of people 'hammering' it OR its down for
maintence which I got as a message. Though, i did a trace, and seemed to me
it did talked to the servers and got acknowledged, but office reports it as
internet problem.

I have the same problem here, so I guess the systems are busy...

Note that because you can ping a given address doesn't mean it is the server
that would be handling the request responding.

These day you can never really tell where http, icmp or any other internet
traffic goes based on dns resolution.

Instead of creating another thread (like someone with no common sense) I'll
just voice myself about this same issue here. I seem to be a bit calmer
though, so I'll wait a few hours and try again.

Not working here either, no firewall (switched off) and still no
activation....

Well OK, we understood that many of us have got the same issue.
I'm rather disappointed though that no one from microsoft has replied to any
of the hundreds posts about this topic.
Assuming that the server are down, when am I exactly supposed to try again?
I can run my Office software 40 more times now, so what if I can't activate
it before running out of times?
Isn't there a place where we can directly contact someone who KNOWS something?

Hear hear - is anybody from MS out there?!

I'm in a quandary - do I use and investigate the new programs, or try to
conserve my 49 program-start-ups so I can actually use the programs to do
some work?!

Perhaps I'll stick to Office 2003 for now - shame really, the new beta looks
frankly amazing.

Me too. I just have 40 uses left, and every time I try to activate I loose

same issue here too. asked a friend, also can't get activated. hope this
won't last much longer.

As with all betas, I expect the product to be less stable and to have more
crashes and hang-ups..but I have already had Outlook crash about 5 times
and..each time..it restarts and that uses up an available start each time. I
might not use Powerpoint everyday but I use Outlook everyday and, with the
numnber of crashes, I expect I have about a week before the package is
crippled due to failure to activate.

The works nothing major, just I'd like it to be activated so I can use the
new features of it for my work.

The activation works now, so I'm not that bothered.

I had the same problem and it kept telling me that my internet was not
working, which it was because i was on the internet. Not until i was trying
to activate at the same time did Explorer.exe have to restart did the
activation finally worked. It did this at 38 uses left.
