Office 2007 Beta expired; removed; Office 2003 corrupted

Hello!

I was beta testing Office 2007 and it expired. I uninstalled it but still
had Office 2003 on my computer. When I tried to use it the programs were
corrupted. I can not uninstall or reinstall Office 2003. I can not even run
the install program so I can use the repair portion of the program.

I get an error with Windows Installer. The installtion source for this
product is not available. Verify that the source exists and that you can
access it.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Download and run the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Remove all references to Office 2003 and 2007. Then try running setup again.

Thanks! I tried that, but not I get the error "Cannot start Microsoft
Outlook. Mapi32.dll is corrupt or the wrong version. This could have been
cause by installing other messaging software. Please reinstall Outlook".

I did and it did not work. Also, I went to
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318662 and followed the directions. Outlook
did not work in the new profile either. It gave me the same error.

I am going to try and uninstall and reinstall Office again.

Start Windows in safe mode. Rename or delete the
C:\Windows\System32\MSMAPI32.DLL file (Note: do not rename or delete the
MAPI32.DLL file). Restart Windows in normal mode and start Outlook.

Hello!

I found the file under common\msapi and deleted it, but Outlook still does
not work.

Any other suggestions other than throw the computer out of the window:)

Hello Garfield-n-odie (I like Odie by the way!:)

I was incorrect. It did work, now I have an entirely different error
message!! Progress!!

I am waiting for it to pop up again so I can google it and then maybe post
it again if I can not figure it out.

It speaks about a messaging file missing.

Thanks you geniouses!!

"A Healing has Occurred!"

Had the same problem, when Office 2007 Trial expired and I removed it ,
Office 2003 went with it.

Installer wanted CD's and I fooled around for a day with registy
entries etc.

Then I did a System Restore from a few days before the 2007 removal and
....

All is right with the world. Everything seems to be right back to
MSOffice 2003 with no probs.

1.Remove 2007
2.Restore point before removal.
3. Report back.
