Office 2007 Broken after Time Zone Update Tool - Urgent

A

abakshi

I'm running Office 2007 B2TR under Vista Ultimate.

Everything was working fine till yesterday, when I installed the MS Time
Zone Update Tool, which is supposed to take care of any issues related to the
new Daylight Savings Time changes. So I ran the tool, which scanned through
and found nothing it needed to change.

Now, whenever I try to open an Office program, it shows a little window with
a progress bar, saying:

"Configuring Office 2007 Shared MUI"

Then, in the case of Outlook, it'll open, but with several problems (see
below). When I try to open Word, it says: "There is not enough memory or
disk space to run Word."

So I can't even open Word. Same with Excel. PowerPoint opens a blank gray
window with nothing but a title bar on top.

When I go to my calendar or contacts in Outlook, I see all my
appointments and contacts, but when I try to open anything, it says "Cannot
open this item." I can't make any new appointments or contacts either - it
says "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook." I've obviously tried restarting Outlook and the
computer, but nothing is working. There are also now several UI issues in
Outlook.

This is extremely disrupting and has basically made this PC useless. I
can't use Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, and most importantly, Outlook isn't
working, so I don't get any reminders and I can't add any new appointments or
contacts.

So does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks.

Have you looked in 'Add or Remove Programs' to see if anything was added when
you ran the tool, and if so try uninstalling it. I still run XP so don't
know if this would help.

Jeez - the beta has been over for 3 freaking months!!! Why would you expect a fix for a RTM product to work on a BETA???

If you intend to get the released product in the next 60 days, then remove that buggy beta, download a trial, install it and start shopping for the retail version at your preferred retailer.
