Office 2007 - cannot start

S

Steven

I just installed MS Office 2007 Beta and the conversion tool. Now I can't
open any part of Office as I get the following error message:
Outlook - Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot initialize
Microsoft Office shared utilities. Restart your computer or reinstall
Microsoft Office Outlook.
When I try to start Word I get the and error message say "There is not
enough memory or disk space to run Word."
Basically I'm getting the not enough memory to run any part of Office error
message.
Can anyone please help me figure out what is going on. In the meantime I'm
going to go back to using Office 2003.
Thanks.

Check the archives of this group. I believe the last I read was that the
conversion tool that's online now will *not* work with the Office 2007 beta.
It will only work with the released version. (I could be wrong about this
but you really should check the archives of this group.)

If the RTM compatibility pack is installed on a system that has a beta
version of Office 2007, it's a recipe for disaster...See the post for
more info and a still working link to the B2TR compatibility pack.

Thank you. I've been pretty busy lately and wasn't sure if something had

Thanks everyone for your help. So the only question I have remaining is that
if I re-install Office 2007; how can I make it compatible with earlier
versions of the program i.e. Office 2003 or XP?
Thanks again.

Well let's say I re-install Office 2007, how can I make what I do there
viewable in previous versions of Office.
Hope that makes sense. :)

Make sure to save your work in the 97-2003 file formats (those are not
the default!).
