You have to choose between Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2007 because you can
only have one or the other, but you can have both 2003 and 2007 versions
of the the other Office applications. If you want to keep the 2003
versions of Word, Excel, etc., alongside the 2007 versions, then choose
a Custom installation of 2007, and choose to keep the 2003 versions in
the Installation Options tab. Be sure to specify a different
installation folder for each version.

As a precaution, back up Word 2003's normal.dot template and any custom
templates you created, autocorrect list, and custom dictionary, and
Outlook's .pst file(s), before you install the 2007 version. See

and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=928091 "Information about using
2007 Office suites and programs on a computer that is running another
version of Office" for more information.

Surely all versions of Office, from 2002 onwards, install into version
specific folders by default

Garfield -- thanks for the dope. I have a similiar question -- my new
computer came with Office 2007, and I dont like it. I loved my 2003.

Can I also load my old 2003 Office (ex Outlook) which came with my old
defunct computer and expect them to co-exisit and co-operate ok on my new
computer which has Win xp.
Thanks, ROG

If your copy of Office 2003 came preinstalled on your old computer by
the computer manufacturer, then it is probably an OEM (not retail)
version of Office, which means the software is only licensed for
installation on the computer that the computer manufacturer installed it
on, and the software cannot be transferred to any other computer. Read
your Office 2003 End User License Agreement to verify.

I cant post a new question which is: how can I replace 2007 XP with 2003XP .
2007 allows out express to spell check only in FRENCH and the other programs
Word, Excel are click intensive and cant be read by anyone without 2007
unless you save them in 2003 format.
