Office 2007 Commands

I can't believe there is not a RIBBON that has the most common commands on
them in Office 2007 products. Open, New, Save, Close, Print, Print Preview,
Undo/Redo
You know, what you had in the Standard Toolbar. What happened?

Yes, I know you can create your own Shortcut Toolbar (which you can hardly
see it's so tiny). But to have the most commonly used commands buried under
an icon (office button) is stupid.

Can you create your own RIBBON? It doesn't look like you can customize a
RIBBON. Does anyone know who to contact within Microsoft to send a list of
complaints and/or suggestions? I have to teach these products and it doesn't
look like Microsoft bothered asked a teacher.

Microsoft DID bother to ask real world users.

Click the round button with the Office logo. That has all the stuff you're
talking about.

To customize the ribbon, you need to use third-party software like one of
these:

http://www.addintools.com/

I wouldn't recommend using the ribbon customization add-ins if you're
teaching the software, though. I think it will only confuse your users.

You can right-click any button on the ribbon and add it to your QAT, which
is the one toolbar you can customize. You can also move the QAT below the
ribbon (right-click it to do so) so it spans the width of your application
window.

Simplest thing might be to memorize the keyboard shortcuts for these.

The old shortcuts work pretty much across the board in 2007.

Print Preview's a little trickier, but Alt+FPE should do it for you.
