I'm considering purchasing a Macbook to be my primary College PC but
I'm concerned with how compatible Mac Office 2004 is with the new MS
Office 2007. What should I be concerned about.......

Anything produced in Office 2004 (Mac) is readable (and thus
modifiable) in 2007 (Windoze). To go back the other way, either get
the Windoze user(s) to save in an earlier format, or use a converter.

Microsoft have a free converter on Beta test at the moment (see
<http://www.microsoft.com/mac/downloads.aspx> to download it),
alternatively use an application like NeoOffice (see <http://
www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php>). There could well be other
applications, too.

Converted files will be "almost" correct: there will be some
formatting in 2007 that doesn't exist in 2004, so that element of the
file will be lost.
