Office 2007 configures itself everytime an application launches

I upgraded to 2007 and kept the 2003 files on the machine in case I wanted to
roll back. Everything was fine and I forgot about them until about two weeks
ago. I had updates set for automatic. I came to my desk and had been
updated. As a result of the update, when Office applications are launched
2003 apps opens. I uninstalled 2003 and removed the update backup files from
my machine.

Now whenever an application with the exception of Outlook launches it
presents a dialogue box saying,

"Please wait while setup prepares the necessary files", then another saying

"Configuring Microsoft Office Professional Plus"

Excel opens immediately but you get the same sequence of dialog boxes and
with Word it doesn't launch until the process is finished.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Office Pro Plus but nothing changed. Can
somebody recomend something.

I have the same problem with a clean install of Office 2007. No fix?

rt click an office exe file, select run as administrator

DL - and then do what with it? I can't give a user the Admin password. We
have a couple of machines doing the same thing. I've tried an Repair
install, uninstall/reinstall, installing all and a registry hack but this
config/setup screen still comes back after a day or so.

Any other ideas?
