Not sure, but even using the install in the way you are doing it, I believe
that if the new install does not have the program that you want to overwrite
(Access in this case) it will not uninstall the original. It will only
uninstall the programs that are being replaced.

If I am wrong I am sure someone else will post.

I'm think you wrong about this but any way, I try to install also the ACCESS
so even your point is right, in my case it sould remove the access and
install Access 2007. What i get is Access 97 with Access 2007 after the
installation.
Thanks

Hi PLD,

Office 2007 uses the MS Installer and basically only removes older versions
that are 'in support'/used that installer technology. MS Office 2000 is the
first version that meets the criteria.
MS Office 97 series products used the older MS Acme Setup and are not
automatically
detected/removed by Office 2007 when you choose 'older' versions in the
Office 2007 OCT (Office Customization Tool), so you may want to run an
uninstall of the older product first, via script or other method. It may
ask for that version installation source point or CD.

The information here
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/FX101754511033.aspx is also
applicable to what is removed.
