| Hi Matt,
|
| I created a file called "this is a test file.xlsx", it opens immediately
| without any error.
|
| I would double confirm if this issue occurs in Windows clean boot? Please
| also test the issue with Word 2007 and let us know the result.
|
| I have searched our internal database but cannot find any information to
| this strange issue, you may send me your test file "This is a test.xlsx",
I
| will check if it takes specific formatting to cause the issue.
|
| You can send me the file at (e-mail address removed).
|
| Also, if you have any update of the issue, don't hesitate to post back
| here, we can discuss together.
|

|

| | Hi Daisy,
| |
| | Thanks for all your help. This one is not over unfortunately. Once I
had
| | tracked the problem to McAfee I contact McAfee support and arranged a
| WebEx
| | session. When I tried to show the support guys the problem it wouldn't
| play
| | ball and the documents opened within seconds! I'll have to wait for it
to
| | resurface try again. One thing that I have noticed is that I am unable
to
| | remove the "use DDE" option in the file types. I deselect it close the
| dialog
| | and go back in to confirm and it is re-enabled.
| | Now if I try and open an Excel attachment/file with spaces in the
| filename I
| | get error messages saying it can't open the file. For example, if I try
| and
| | open a file with the name "This is a test.xlsx", I get error messages:
| |
| | Can't open "This.xlsx"
| | Can't open "Is.xlsx"
| | Can't open "A.xlsx"
| | "Can't open Test.xlsx"
| |
| | Then the file opens.
