Office 2007 & dual monitors

Why won't Office 2007 applications let you drag full screen windows from one
monitor to the other. I now have to "restore" down a window, then drag it to
the other monitor, then go back to full screen. This seems to be the case
with all applications except Outlook which still allows me to drag to the
other monitor in full screen mode as all Office 2003 applications did.

Nothing has changed on my computer set up and as I stated, Outlook 2007
still works as before the 2007 install. I noticed the same behavior on other
computers I've tested in the office.

winxp sys I use Nvidea dual monitor to impliment

There must be some difference in Office 2007, as I said it worked with Office
2003 applications and still works with Outlook 2007 and other Micosoft
software such as Internet Explorer. Only the balance of Office 2007
applications are affected...

To repeat *all* working here (office 2007)

Mine works as well....are you sure that you don't have the windows Maximized
(upper right, center box should only show one window)??

V

Yes, the window IS manimized. That's what I'm talking about, draging FULL
screen , i.e. maximized windows from one monitor to the other. This worked
fine in Office 2003, but only Outlook will permit it in 2007.

Again...look in the upper right hand corner of the window, the center box,
left of the red square, it should be 1 (one) square in that box and not 2
"boxes" Click the center square until you see just one square, then drag.

I consider that a "work around" Meebers. I already understand I can restore
down the window and then drag it and after return to maximized. This however
was not necessary in 2003 and still isn't necessary in Outlook 2007. So, I'm
not looking for suggestions on how to cope with this change in operation, I'm
looking for how to make it work how it used to in 2003. And why the
difference in Outlook and all other
applications?????????????????????????????????

I'm not sure what you're referring to. NONE of my applications will let
me drag them from screen to screen when they're maximized. Not Office
2007, not Firefox 3.09, not OpenOffice Writer 2.3, not Google Chrome,
not Adobe Reader....

I don't have Office 2003 in front of me to test right now.

Same here (on two systems), but apparently it can be done on other systems.

That suggests it's something to do with the video subsystem. FWIW, mine are both
ATI.

I am not sure I would call it a "work around". Its the way things have
always worked for me regardless of what program. I have had Office 2000, 03
and now 07, all working the same way. Not sure if my attempted answers were
clear enough though. How about on your main monitor, can you drag your
window around at all?.... and the problem is that it will not drag to the
second monitor

Mine is an also an ATI setup, don't think that matters though. If the
window is maximized, I cannot drag mine at all, if it is not maximized and
stretched to the size I want it, I can drag it on the same screen and onto
the other monitor.

That's exactly what I'm seeing here.

I'm hoping that someone who *can* drag maximized windows around will report
their video display setup. I don't see any reason to rule that out just yet.

Meebers, I understand your answer completely. My video is nvidia and that
hasn't changed at all. The only change was the install of Office 2007. With
the windows maximized, I could drag them from one monitor to the other in
2003. Since the 2007 install, all Office applications except for Outlook
will no longer do this. I can still do it with Internet Explorer for example
so clearly the video set up is capable of it. Even Outlook 2007 will still
do it. That's why I don't understand what has changed with the other Office
applications... I didn't realize that this was so unusual but since it will
no longer work it's a pain!

Perhaps the resolution on the two monitors is different and 2007 isn't happy
with that. A easy thing to check.
