Office 2007 Enterprise Failure

B

bgrove2

I am in the Army and recently purchased the Enterprise through the Home Use
Program. I have used it a few time and all of a sudden, it stopped working
when I started up my laptop today. Here's what I see:

When I try to open any of the Office 2007 Applications (i.e. Word, Power
Point, Etc.) it acts as if its the first time I opened it after installation
instead of just opening:
1. Windows installer opens
2. It says to wait while Windows Configures Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007
3. Then I get "Error 2330. Setup cannot get attributes for file C:\Program
Files\Microsoft Office\Office12. Verify that the file exists in your system
and that you have sufficient permissions to update it."

Note: The 4 digit code is different for whichever application I'm trying to
open; 2330 is for Power Point.

4. When I click "OK", another window pops up and says "Fatal error during
installation."
5. When I go to the C:\Program Files everything seems fine. But, when I try
to open up the "Microsoft Office" folder, it says it is not accessible and
that "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable".
6. I tried to use the disk to repair but it gives me the same message as
above when trying to open.
7. I tried to uninstall, but it won't let me and also gives the same error
message.
8. Everything was fine, but now it just stopped working overnight.

Please Help!!!

Hello,

Based on the symptoms posted, which included "File or directory is
corrupted..." I am looking at the possibility of your hard disk having some
errors which renders your installation of Microsoft Office unusable. I
recommend checking your hard disk for errors.

Please Refer to the following for instructions:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265/en-us - Microsoft Windows XP

For Microsoft Windows Vista:

1. Start > Computer
2. Right Click C: and select properties
3. Go to the tools tab
4. On the error checking group click check now.
5. Follow instructions.
