Does anyone know of a Microsoft (or third-party) resource which lists Office
2007 installation error codes and how to resolve them?

Hi Subligaria,

Unfortunately it's not always as simple as one error 'code' equals one solution. There are listings of what you'll find in the
Office setup log files to help troubleshoot, but it's often a process of find and eliminate a candidate issue in a given
circumstance.

There can be errors during installation that come from the Office setup.exe program ones that come from the MS Installer
(msiExec.exe) and errors caused by broken apps, conflicts with drivers, bad memory chips, missing network drives and more.

is the basic MS Knowledge Base search location for searching for specific error messages or for troubleshooting guides for a
particular Office version or type of problem. http://support.microsoft.com/ph/8753 will take you to the Product Help center for MS
for the 2007 Microsoft Office suites that lists some troubleshooting guides by common error message or for Installation.

Thanks for that information.

I have managed to find a couple of dedicated KB articles listing error codes
for Office 2003 and XP. I just wondered if there was one for 2007 but can't
track one down.

Have you seen one?
