Office 2007 Help Crashes

Whenever I try to access help in any Office 2007 application, the help
system crashes out with this error:

Microsoft Office Help Viewer has encountered a problem and needs to
close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Details show the following, among others:

AppName: clview.exe AppVer: 12.0.4518.1014 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00000000

This is a new problem, as the help system worked fine until about a
week ago. I'm wondering if a newly installed patch is the culprit
(I'm using XP SR-2).

Any ideas? Thanks.
