office 2007 home and studio - "configuration status window"

I just installed Office 07 home and studio on my PC. Installation went fine.
Problem is, everytime I open a document or any other Office product, it
reconfigurates all over again, i.e. opens a window saying please wait while
Windows is configurating bla bla followed by a window called configuration
status (wording might be different - I'm running a Danish version) wth a
green loading bar. This takes about 2 minutes and afterwards the program
opens and works fine. Why does this process intiate every time?
I had an earlier version of Office installed previously but I uninstalled it
before installing 07 version.
