Office 2007 Home User/Student trial version

M

Mr. Arnold

Hello,

I have a company expense report that I must fill out. I am a contractor, and
I am never in the office where I can do this with Excel in Office 2007. I
can't do it at work, even though the client has MS Office on its machine I
am using.

This Excel solution is 2007, and I thought I could just download the Office
2007 trail to get a touch and feel before I buy it for my Vista machine.
However, the cells, table and textboxes are locked. I can't do anything but
look and print the spreadsheet. While on the other hand, if I open this
spreadsheet at the client's site where Office 2003 is being used, I have no
problems in working with the spreadsheet.

Is my problem in working with this spreadsheet at my hotel room with my
laptop due to it being a trial version of Office 2007 being used?

Did you activate it? Also, please note that the Home and Student version is for non-commercial work only.

Yes, that did the trick the activation. I am using the solution for my own
personal usage, which is to do my Expense Report on my laptop. The company
doesn't own my laptop.

Thanks

Doing an Expense Report IS commercial use. Anything you do that is involved in a business is commercial use.

If you really need a trial version, you would have done better to download the Professional trial.

Using a PERSONAL computer for one's PERSONAL convienence (no renumeration)
is NOT 'commercial' use.

Submitting an EXPENSE report to a organisation for recompense is COMMERCIAL
use.

Well, who is going to hold me accountable? I don't need a trial version, and
when I spend $145 to install it on my computer for my personal usage, then I
am going to use it for my needs. I don't care what the usage is about. I am
certainly not going to spend over $300 for the Standard and over $400 for
Professional when I don't need it nor can I afford it, for something I will
use once a week, and maybe never use it again. If I could get a hold of my
pirated Office 2003, I wouldn't be bothered with this at all. But I can't
get to it. It's in Brink's storage facility with the rest of my house hold
belongings.

Are you going to buy me the standard or professional version, because short
of you doing that, it's falling on deaf ears and it is a moot point?

Gee, sounds like a pirate to me justifying his illegal use of Office H&S and I don't deal with pirates.

Plonk.

Well MVP, you need to get off of your soap box preacher and shut the hell
up, because I don't need you. I got the help I needed from you, and I
appreciate you for that. I got a mama, and I don't need you trying to be
one.

What does the word <PLONK> mean to you? I thought you issued one. It
doesn't seem that you understand the concept. You'll do good to be yourself
let alone trying to be someone's mama, which is running your mouth.

Like I said, I appreciated your help. Now, you have gone of the deep-end,
dear.
