Office 2007 incompatibility with dual monitor setup

I have a dual monitor setup and use Ultramon
http://www.realtimesoft.com/ultramon/ for management. Both Excel and Word
2007 freeze when I attempt to switch them to the other monitor. The switching
is accomplished through a button that is added on the right side of the title
bar next to the other window control buttons.

I have been using Office 2000 along with dozens of other applications. The
only apps that fail to operate with this configuration are Office 2007 apps.
Since this is the first real upgrade to office since 2000, I was looking
forward to using it. But unless this problem is solved, I will just go back
to what works.

I don't know about ultramon, but I use dual monitors using the capability
built into Windows XP and Vista, and it works perfectly--not only with all
of Office 2007, but with everything else, as well. There's no switching
button. In Display Settings, I chose to extend the desktop onto the
secondary monitor, and both monitors act as if they were one very wide
monitor. I can drag windows from one screen to the other, or even display a
wide Excel 2007 spreadsheet across both monitors.

Ultramon adds to the capabilities you mentioned, by allowing you to customize
shortcuts so that certain programs will always open on a specific monitor and
even a specific size and position if you wish. It also allows moving an app
to the other monitor without dragging. It also allows for individual
desktops, taskbars, screensavers for each monitor. Ultramon goes well beyond
the built in Windows dual monitor functionality and I won't give up that
convenience for Office 2007, which probably doesn't add any value for what I
do anyway.

Bottom line is if there is a way to fix the Office 2007 problem, I'll
probably buy it. Otherwise I don't need it.
