office 2007 installation and 2003 removal

I installed 2007 w/the option to remove 2003. 2003 was not removed during
the 2007 installation. Now when I try to remove it, I get a notice that the
patch is not available. How can I remove 2003?

If the two versions do not contain the same components then those components
from the old installation not contained within the new will be retained.
How are you trying to uninstall, via the 2003 cd?
