Office 2007 Installation

My computer has Office 2003 . I am about to install Office 2007
(Professional). A few questions: do I need to do anything with the Word or
Excel documents created with 2003?. Is it better to replace 2003 with 2007 or
have both on computer. (Any problems with either approach?). I understand I
have to choose either Outlook 2003 or Outlook 2007. Any problems?

as i understand it, if you bought an upgrade version of office 2007 using
office 2003 as the qualifying product, then you have to then uninstall office
2003. but read the licensing terms for yourself for your 2003 on your
computer now. and/or go to this page for ""Microsoft Software License Terms
(MSLT) for the 2007 Microsoft Office system""
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/products/HA102103171033.aspx

i've no problem with 2003 word or excel with office 2007

AND HERE is the applicable section of the license agreement:

"""13. UPGRADE OR CONVERSION. To upgrade or convert software, you
must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade or
conversion. Upon upgrade or conversion, this agreement takes the place of
the agreement for the software you upgraded or converted from.

After you upgrade or convert, you may no longer use the earlier version of
the software you upgraded or converted from. """

i don't know if that is an "empty" condition, or if the qualifying software
somehow becomes inoperable. perhaps someone else will let us know.

In general terms you pop your Office cd in, and it will give you the option
to Upgrade your old installation.
Do this & the 2003 components will be removed, usually the procedure works
without a hitch.
All 2003 docs can be read/edited in 2007.
You can still create & save a doc in old format with 2007
Only a single instance of Outlook can be installed
