Office 2007 - keyboard

Often when I am working on a Word document (or Outlook) some of the keys
suddenly change - for example the "@" symbol will become "/". The only way I
can get back to the standard keys is to save what ever I am doing and restart
Word or Outlook.

I have no idea what is triggering this but it is driving me crazy.

If nobody has an idea as to what might be causing this, does anyone know a
sequence of key strokes that will reset the keyboard?

Thanks

Alan

Sounds to me like you have set up Alternate keyboards in your operating
system and you are hitting the Hotkey that switches it. I'd suggest
removing/disabling that alternate keyboard. In Windows XP it is found in
Control Panel, Regional and Language Options. Probably similar In Vista,
you could also check Vista Start Help and Support, or visit the Vista
group and ask.

Try Word Options, Advanced, and remove the check next to "Automatically switch
keyboard ..." if it's currently checked.
