Office 2007 lic. can I upgrade?

I just got myself a new laptop for going back to school. I also just paid for
Office 2007 from a retail outlet. When I get it and install it I will use it
for at least 1 year. After that time will I be able to but an upgrade to
office pro. if I need it? and use the upgrade price? or upgrade to newer
version when released? or will I have to buy the FULL version bacause I
purchased the home, student version??

According to

2007 Home and Student Edition is a qualifying product for upgrade
pricing to Office 2007 Professional Edition, but no announcement has
been made as to whether it will be a qualifying product for upgrade to
any edition of the next Office version.

Microsoft now allows for a cross-grade and you will be able to do it from
the HSE 2007 version.

Instead of getting office pro & if you haven't gotten the retail h&s, see if you
can return it.

The price is $59.95 for the perpetual retail license which allows install onto
the desktop & laptop. The office ultimate 2007 has just about everything
& more than what I needed.
