Nice N Handy
Dear All;
First time posting on this community so here goes...
I have MS Office 2007 with infopath, access, one note & groove. I also own a
windows mobile 6 xda pocket pc.
As a small business I figured that would be all I needed to be able to cook
up a simple straight forward mobile data collection app using the plethora of
tools that came with my office bundle.
It seems however that access 2007 has no provision for Windows Mobile
devices, Infopath requires a Sharepoint platform for me to access Infopath
forms via a browser (!?) Oh - didi I forget to mention, the Microsoft
Internet Explorer shipped with Windows Mobile is not compatible with
Sharepoint / Office Live.... And as for One Note - I still havn't figured a
use for it.
I am left with few choices it seems... Either pay a third party for a bit of
software that allows me to run infopath forms (still via a browser and with a
monthly subscription) OR Start using Windev Mobile (FREE) to build mobile
apps for FREE OR Caryy a pen & paper at all times.
I'm sorry if this comes across as negative, but right now I'm completely
speechless at the fact that Microsoft seem to have COMPLETELY ignored mobile
users. I've already paid for my software - I don't want to invest in a server
of have to buy yet more middlewear to get the most out of the technology I
have paid for.
DOES ANYONE out there know of a simple method for me to gather data on my
Windows Mobile PDA and have it synch (even if its manually) with my Office
apps such as Access?
