Office 2007, need scroll bars Hor & Vert

I need to see my horizontal & vertical scroll bars. I have gone through the
procedure of clicking from office button to display and I have seen my
Horizontal and Vertical scroll bars squares checked. What can I do now,
office users, I'm stuck. But when I reduce the page (upper right-hand
corner), I can see the scroll bars? AHHHH! I'm dumb founded.

PS I tried using HELP from Microsoft, it was no use to me. I typed in
horizontal scroll bar and got everything but that. If it was in a category, I
couldn't find it or determine what it might be under/called. It was
frustrating to say the least.

I believe Word 2007 displays a horizontal scroll bar only when one is needed
(i.e., when the Zoom ratio is set so high that part of the document is
offscreen).
