Office 2007 Not Installing properly on Vista

Re-Posted from Genearl Questions as no answers came! hope for better luck here

I am running Vista Home Premium on a well capable PC, Installed Office
Enterprise 2007 and all was well for a while....

Problems started with Word after an update frm Microsoft that stopped my
mouse from working in documents. Eventually found a solution to this at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/921541 But in the meantime I
uninstalled / re-installed Office.

Since then whenever I load any Office Application I get the "Preparing to
Install" and 2 or 3 "Please Wait while Windows configures your Office
Application" message boxes.

After leaving it anything from 1 to 10 minutes the application loads and
mostly works, though attempting any search in Outlook never finds any results
even if you copy and paste an exact subject line into the search box. which
indicates something is not working!

Any Suggestions or Ideas (or should I just give up and run Office 2003
instead!)

thanks

Pete

It does sound like there is a problem with the installation.

If you have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but the issue persists, you
may want to try to remove Office 2007 manually following KB928218.

This article describes the process for removing all of the office files/reg
keys manually.

How to uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using
the "Add or Remove Programs" feature
