Office 2007 on Windows XP Media?

L

Lonpuz the noob

Although Vista looks nice, I can't part with the extra money right now. That
said, I need some of the functionality in Office 2007 (specifically Excel).
Can I run Office 2007 on Windows XP Media 2005?

According to the install specs if you have 500 MHz processor and 256 MB RAM
and look at the rest of the specs. If you have XP Media I will bet you have a
lot more powerr than you need for this.

Here is a better answer
To use Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007, you will need:

Component Requirement
Computer and processor 500 megahertz (MHz) processor or higher1
Memory 256 megabyte (MB) RAM or higher1, 2
Hard disk 1.5 gigabyte (GB); a portion of this disk space will be freed
after installation if the original download package is removed from the hard
drive.
Drive CD-ROM or DVD drive
Display 1024x768 or higher resolution monitor
Operating system Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack (SP) 2, Windows
Server 2003 with SP1, or later operating system3
Other Certain inking features require running Microsoft Windows XP Tablet PC
Edition or later. Speech recognition functionality requires a close-talk
microphone and audio output device. Information Rights Management features
require access to a Windows 2003 Server with SP1 or later running Windows
Rights Management Services.

I have Pub 2007 running on a P3-500 with 384 MB RAM. It's as fast (slow?) as
Pub 2003 on my system. :)

WELL MATE ,, Office 2007 will work with your machine and your job will be
done but at a cost!!

i have 2Gh centrino processor 2Gb RAM for Windows XP SP2 with nVidia 6600
Graphics YET dealing with office when u have a file bigger than 1~2 Mg is a
pain in the ass.

it works But slow as hell then. if all your files are tiny then lucy you.
Otherwise be aware that the greatness of Office 2007 has its down side

The real system requirement for office 2007 to work as perfect as you dream
IS FAR MORE THAN OFFICIALLY STATED.BUT thats because office 2007 depends a
lot on the visual interface so YOU MAY BE LUCKY if your windows is XP media
cos that should mean u have a powerfull vedio/screan card and visual graphic
stull should show up perfectly an instanty when needed

however office 2007 with all the pain it causes and heart attacks it is
still the best compared to other crap products we hear about in the wild from
time to another..
