Office 2007 performance problems?

Since our recent upgrade to from 2003 to 2007, many users are complaining
about performance problems on their systems. Now some of this may be
related to other things, and I'm certainly NOT pointing the finger squarely
at Office because we've made some other changes to the network and
infrastructure which may be to blame. I'm just wondering if anyone else has
seen general system performance after upgrading. One symptom in
particular - numerous users are now reporting "bursty typing." In other
words, you're typing along and then all of a sudden the cursor freezes for a
few seconds, then comes back and bursts out all the words you were typing
while it was frozen. For many people this issue definitely showed up
shortly after they upgraded. Has anybody else seen this?

Thanks!

I don't know about the other Office apps, but PowerPoint especially really
relies on printer drivers even more than previous versions did. So it's
important to have local printer drivers installed and set as the default
printer. And also, those drivers should be Windows-certified drivers. (The
printer drivers that ship with Windows should be Windows-certified.) You
know how to do this already, I'm sure, but here're instrux just in case:

It's a pretty easy thing to do, so it's definitely worth a shot.
