I am installing Office 2007 Pro Plus onto a "virgin" PC. Nothing installed
other than XP Pro. Installing from a CDR burned from an MSDN ISO download.
Created the CD on an XP laptop using the internal burner and Sonic
RecordNowPlus! software.
When installing, the installation program starts, progress bar makes it
nearly half-way across, then I get the message that "Setup cannot continue
because a required file is not available" or something close to that. It
references that it cannot find a cab file ProPlusr.WW.
I located the file on the install CD, exactly where it should be. I click
on it, and after the installer progress bar ticks one or two additional
progress bars the same message appears. Attempts to move the file and then
point to it have not worked, as I then get an "invalid directory" message of
some sort.
Anyone tell me if this is something I can work around? I have not had any
problem with other CDs burned from my laptop, including the XP Pro install on
the same machine. The PC is completely virgin ground - new everything, built
from scratch. I am thinking it might be the ISO image, so I will re-burn and
try....
Anyone offer suggestions?
