office 2007 product key not activating?!

OK,

I read all the other posts about people not being able to activate their
microsoft offices. I can't activate mine either. I have Vista Home premium,
so office was pre-installed on my computer. I do the trial thing because my
product key wont work. NOW my trial is nearly up, and I STILL cant activate
my product key! This product key was on the bottom of my laptop, and it has
exactly 25 characters.

I really need an answer fast because I'm a uni student and I need office for
my assignments.

Generally speaking the product key that adhered to the system is for
Windows, not Office.

And to continue JoAnn's statement, you would need to
purchase the key to "upgrade" your trial software to a
licensed version.

I would recommend that you purchase a "legal" copy of the
software from Amazon or another reputable company, delete
the trial version and install the purchased copy. In the
meantime, to be able to create or edit the Office documents,
you can download Open Office (the look and feel of OO is not
quite the same as Office versions earlier than 2007 and
nothing like the 2007 version but it will read and write to
most of the Office file types) www.openoffice.org and
install it. Most of the features of the Office programs
are available with this free download.

Office only comes prinstalled as a trial edition, unless you paid extra for
the Office OEM edition
Vista, and any flavour of operating system does not come with any
applications, other than wordpad etc
