office 2007 read only documents

Hellllllllloooooooo

I am running windows XP and just recently installed office 2007, after
downing SP2 onto my systems all documents come up read only. I can make
changes on my system but if I burn info to a CD and try to open it on another
system, it comes up "read only". My only solution thus far is to copy and
paste the document to make any necessary changes but would like to avoid this
and just want my system running the way it was before installing SP2. I
tried to do a restore on my system prior to installing the SP2 patch but
wasn't allowed to go back that far. Thanks for any suggestions.

CDs are read only media. Any file opened from the CD must be saved to the local or network drive to be opened as Read/Write.
