Word and Excel 2007 applications opens work created using 2003 applications
as "Read Only" in "Compatiblity" mode. I guessed that would be O.K., except
that I can not edit work and save it because the file is -- you guessed
it -- "Read Only".
Here is what I have tried:
Ensured that *none* of my previous work is marked as *Read Only* (or, in the
case of Access, refuse to even open a database, providing me with an error
message that the database is "locked".)
Set default format via: Options | Save | Save files in this format:
(word/excel) 97-2003
I have also gone to Options | Trust Center | Trust Center Settings | Trusted
Locations and set my data locations as "trusted" and have included
"subfolders" as trusted.
What I want to do is open work that was created in an earlier version, edit
the work, and save the changes without having to change the file name or the
file extension.
How do I do this???
TIA,
Steve
