Office 2007 removal problems

I hate Office 2007 so I successfully uninstalled it via Control Panel/Add
Remove Programs. The intent was to reinstall Office 2003, but the autoplay
doesn't seem to work on the CD. I double click the Setup.exe and get the
following message: "This patch could not be opened. Verify that the patch
package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application venor
to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package." The message
doesn't make any sense to me since this is a genuine Microsoft CD of Office
2003. What can I do to reinstall office 2003? Thank you for any assistance.
