I can only hope that you support the 2003 product for your corporate
customer's for a very long time. The ribbon bar won't fly for us. Our test
group asked if the development team ever actually worked in a real office
environment? The more they voiced that question, the more it seemed to be
designed by art and design students. It looks pretty, but in actual use, it
isn't functional.
Ask a designer for a new race car and it will look great. May not ever
win a race though. Ask a crew chief to build a new race car and everything
will be done with racing as it's primary function. It will leave the
designer's car in it's dust while on it's way to winning the race.
Microsoft needs to run "ribbons" by a few crew chiefs; leave the
designers at home for awhile.
