Office 2007 SBE license / Activation.

Masaki Kuraoka

Hello there.

I am novice, so please be kind.

I bought Office 2007 Small Biz edition. It came with nice plastic box.
I installed it on Notebook PC and activated. I had no problem with that.

My problem was I don't like user interface of office 2007.

So, I bought Office 2003 SBE......

My question is

Can I use this Office 2007 on another PC? Can I re-activate it???
If so, how do I do it? Call Microsoft to explain my situation?

Thanks in advace.

If its a retail addition, yes
Uninstall on first PC reinstall on new, if online activation doesnt work use
phone activation, explain you have removed it from a PC & installing it on a
new one
However if its an OEM edition its licenced for the first & only PC its
installed on

I can understand not liking the interface but eventually you will be using
it. Why not get accustomed to it now so that by the time it becomes more
popular, you'll be a whiz at it. Get a head start on everyone else. ;-)

Thank you very much for answering my question.

Yes, it is retail version, I will try re-activating on another PC later.

Well, If you are using Office 97 to 2003, you are very much accustomed to
that interface.
Old and novice person like me can't go into that new area of interface
without frustration.

If you frustrate too much by using Office 2007, I will loose focus on what I
wanted to do with Office 2007.

Business tools itself shouldn't be source of frustration. I had enough
frustration elsewhere already.

Anyway, Thank you for your encouragement.

PS: Is there any option to change to old interface on Office 2007?

I am accustomed to the "old way". I;'ve beedn using it for many years now
but I'm forcing myself to learn the Ribbon. I still have a few years until I
retire (not as many as I need to earn enough money but too many years before
I can sleep in late) - I can't afford to be left behind.

Patrick Schmidt has an add-in that you can purchase and download which will
give you something akin to the old style menus.
