Office 2007 setup.exe does nothing

Trying to install Office 2007 from a folder my sysadmin created, but
when I double click setup.exe nothing happens. Found an autorun.inf
file in there so deleted it, but same thing.

Is there a way I can get a log from setup.exe so I can see what the
Hell is wrong?

thanks.

solved. Needed to login as admin.

An error message isn't much to ask, is it?

Same problem for me. New laptop with Vista. Want to install an existing
version of Office 2007 I own. I uninstalled the 60 Trail Version of Offic
2007 Student and Home Edition, through control panel's Uninstall Programs.

The I put in the installation CD. I tried running Setup.exe. Nothing
happens. It'll run for a second, you can hear the CD spinning, then it
stops.

My next move was to copy the setup files locally to a folder. Similar thing
happened. No windows ever appear to agree to installation, click Next, etc.
I opened up the Task Manager and could see Setup.exe running in the
Processes tab - about 21000k. But never anything. So now the Trial Version
is gone and the install CD doesn't respond to anything.

I am logged in with Admin rights. Only user login the PC has. So no error
message. Just no response. I saw a similar post, and the guy got it towkr
after logging in with Admin priveledges. Not the problem here.

Also, as a temporary solution, will I be able to reinstall a Trail Version
for the remainder of my 60 days to use for now, or might I get stuck with the
same problem? I don't want to dig myself too deep in to a hole.
