Darshan Maiya

When I try to install Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise Edition on my PC
everything is OK till I get a pop-up window which states the following "Setup
cannot find Proofing
..en-us\Proof.fr\Proof.cab.Please select valid installation source and click
OK.
"Proof.cab file is neither corrupted nor unreadable but still I get this
message.I'm using Windows XP SP2.Any help is highly appreciated.

I'm getting exactly the same issue with the Universal edition from MSDN
installing under a "clean" XP SP2 sytsem with all the latest updates applied.

Very irritating - especially since there are a whole bunch of people
reporting this problem all over the web since the beginning of the year but
never any solution.

There's another thread on this problem, " "Missing" Cab files installing
office 2007 on localized Vista". I've currently opened a support incident
with Microsoft to get it solved. I'll post the results, if any, in that
thread.

Frank,

I have encountered a very similar problem with the Action Pack Office 2007
Enterprise kit. On either WIndows XP or Vista Business, if I just blindly opt
for 'install' then it appears to go in fine. But if I use the custom option
and change anything (or even nothing), the install breaks on 'installer
cannot find cab file for Groove, please select directory where this can be
found...'. But, one can navigate to the correct directory, even open it up
(externally) and see the proper files, but the installer bombs with 'invalid
directory'... and cannot get beyond this point. That the untailored install
works suggests this is not a disk readability issue. Also, deselecting
'Groove' has no impact on the issue.
