Make sure to save the files in the 97-2003 file formats, as Office
defaults to its new 2007 formats. For your existing files in PPT that
don't open in 2003, go into PPT 2007 and say Save As 97-2003 PowerPoint
Presentation. Those files should work with Office 2003. If you want to
always save in the PPT format, go into Options, Save, and set Save files
in this format to the 97-2003 one. This setting is similarly located in
Excel & Word.
MS provides converters that allow you to open 2007 files in 2003. Those
are currently also still in beta, and therefore I do not recommend using
them. Saving your files in the compatible 97-2003 file formats is the
better solution during the beta phase.
