Greetings everyone,
I just had to reinstall Vista and Office 2007. I didn't have a single
problem until I did the auto update with Office. The install failed there. I
downloaded the file from Microsoft's website and tried to install it
manually. I get the User Account Control box, I allow that. Then a box pops
up and says "The installation of this package failed." I click Ok and the box
disappears. No error code, no event logs, no log files from the directory I'm
installing from. A very generic error code.
I'm using Vista Home with Office 2007 Basic (Outlook, Word, Excel). Both OS
and Office have been validated. I even tried putting the disk in the drive.
Still no good. Anyone have an idea?
THanks,
Timothy
