Office 2007 SP2 fails to install with error Ox78F

Running XP this update has failed every time I have tried to install it. I
took some suggestions found in some threads like putting my disc in the
machine but nothing seems to work.
At least part of the error report refrences the c|DOCUME~ temp file and also
mentions \temp\MAINWWSP2_MSPLOG
Also \Temp\opatchinstall(3)log.
Event type: instmsp
Any ideas? Thanks

Go to Start-Run- type "regedit" press OK.

Navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Patches Back up the patches key and
delete it.

then try installing the update again. it should work.
