Office 2007 - Spell Check Dictionary Other Than English United Sta

G

Grant

I have my default language set to English Australian
However no matter what I do
More often than not it spell checks against English United States

How do I set Office 2007
So that it always without exception
uses English Australian when I spell check
in Word, Outlook, Excel etc

Thanks for you help - Grant

Look to your options in Control Panel. Check both Regional and Language Options and Keyboard settings.

Hi Milly,

Quick 5 minutes of testing
Results appear encouraging

In the keyboard area
Which I have never looked at in my life
I had language US

I deleted language US which English Australian

Then into word and Outlook for 5 minutes
And results appear encouraging

Will let you know final conclusion and post praise on Forom

Thanks - Grant Muldoon

PS - First time I have used a Microsoft Forum

My problem is solved - THANKS MILLY !!!!!!!!!!

In keyboard settings I had
First English US
Then English Australian

I deleted English US
And now the world is a beautiful place

Vista / Office 2007
Seems now to spell check everything
Against English Australian

Who would have ever thought you would solve this
by going into keyboard settings.

Thanks MILLY

Yeah, it is kind of weird to think that your keyboard controls your spellcheck. Glad it worked for you!

I have a similar problem;

I use Word 2003 but Oulook 2007 (with OneNote 2007)

In Language Bar Settings :

English (United Kingdom)
Keyboard - United States _ International

(In Malaysia we use UK English but we use internationl keyboard for the "$"
instead of the "£" sign.

In MS 2003 Language Settings - only English (UK)

In MS 2007 Language Settings - English (UK) and English (US). Cannot delete
English US. When removed it reappears when this program is reopened.

In OL English US always defualts no matter repeating the setting and
rebooting.

If the keyboard setting controls the language setting then MS should correct
this problem.

Please comment.

I am using Office 2007 pro on XP pro. My regional settings were already set
to English UK only. I automatically remove any reference to English US when
ever I setup a desktop. However, the dictionary is unable to get all the
words correct. Color/Colour is ok. But where there is a US Zz vs UK S
usage, they both come up as correct.
