Office 2007 TR

Hi!

I was really confused an hour ago. I'm an official Beta-Tester for
Microsoft Office 2007. I installed the Beta 2 that came out in May or
so.

As I wanted to start Word and Outlook an hour ago, I got a new
welcome-screen that did not mention the app-name but at the right
bottom corner it said "TR".

A second after that, all office 2007 apps are crashing. What happend
here? How can I work around that?

Try posting this to the private news groups for the technical beta testers -
administration is probably a good place to start. Be sure to include your
beta ID.

If you are an official beta tester, then you have access to the beta
newsgroups. I suggest posting there, as you'll probably get a better
response.

TR (Technical Refresh) is what the TR refers to. As far as I know, it's not
been released, but it's certainly possible some very large corporations have
received a sneak preview or something. Perhaps you're one of those...

No, I'm home alone.
:-(

Since I just did the "Modify Newsgroup Login Info" I think I will have
to wait to get on the news server. It says that it can take up to 24
hours that the servers change their records.

BTW: I posted 2 screenshots on my blog http://www.georgholzer.at/blog.
It's the German version of Office 2007 beta 2 / or not B2TR / or
anything in between.

Lucky you is all I can say. I wished I had B2TR already.

Lucky me?
I cannot work, all my data ist stored in docx and xlsx files. After I
got the B2TR-Welcome Screen I could not start any office app ...

Lucky me?
I'm now waiting that the ms-beta-servers have synced their user data so
that I can ask for the reasons on the proper place ... Lucky me!

Go into control panel, add/remove programs and see if there is nothing
with B2TR in there that you could remove. If there isn't anything,
remove Office 2007 completely and reinstall it.
If you have to download B2 again, get it from betaplace.

How do you get a guest ID?

You obtain a Guest ID by invitation.

If you are trying to download the beta version of Office from
BetaPlace then this is only available to official beta testers and
they have a log on for BetaPlace. Also, if I'm not mistaken, the beta
has been closed to new testers for several months. If you want to
preview Office 2007 by trying out the beta then it's available for
download or Test Drive at:

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.
